The singers you hear in the Hollywood Film Chorale have sung together in various combinations, in dozens of film scores recorded on the sound stages of Hollywood. They come from a community rich with talent and experience, but the official entity, THE HOLLYWOOD FILM CHORALE, came into being when Sally Stevens was asked to gather together a group of singers to perform under the baton of John Williams in concert at the Hollywood Bowl for an evening of his film score compositions.

The Chorale performed music from the Steven Speilberg film AMISTAD, which they had recorded with Mr. Williams on the Sony Scoring Stage in Culver City, swiss replica watches formerly the MGM Studios Scoring Stage. (This is one of a handful of scoring stages where much of the film score music is recorded in and around Hollywood today. It has remained largely unchanged over the years, except for the modernization and state of the art recording equipment now used. Ghosts still linger there, and the presence of the magnificent artists, musicians and singers whose talents were preserved in the musical scores of the now legendary MGM musicals can still be sensed. Judy Garlands rendition of OVER THE RAINBOW was performed on this stage.)

The concept for the HOLLYWOOD FILM CHORALE grew out of a wish to identify and credit the performances of the Chorale in theatrical scores as having been created by the community of artists here in the United States. The composers and studios in our community have been graciously receptive to the request for screen credits and the Chorale has received Screen Credits and/or CD Soundtrack Credits beginning in 2001, for the following film scores: |
JURASSIC PARK III, Don Davis, Composer, and most recently "THE SIMPSONS MOVIE", Hans Zimmer, Composer, We look forward to a continuing participation in the creation of film music with the many gifted composers for whom it is our privilege to perform.
